Inc announces a name change to
Poof-Slinky®.
Poof Products,
Inc. announced today its merger
with James Industries, Inc. of Hollidaysburg,
Pennsylvania, a wholly owned subsidiary
of the Corporation. The merger,
effective January 1st, 2004, will
result in a collective name change
to “Poof-Slinky®, Inc.”
The new corporate
identity reflects a strategic initiative
to provide operating efficiencies
and better serve the expanding retail
account base. In addition, Poof-Slinky®,
Inc. will recognize economies of
scale in fringe benefit plans, increased
purchasing power, and tax planning.
Poof Products,
Inc., a leading manufacturer of
foam sports balls in North America,
purchased James Industries, Inc.
in 1998. Best known as the manufacturer
of the Slinky®, James Industries,
Inc. has expanded the market penetration
of the Slinky® Brand over the
last five years as a subsidiary
of Poof.
