"It's Slinky®," has been continuously on television longer than any of the national commercial jingles. There have been many well-known jingles promoting products and corporations, but their lives on television have seldom extended beyond a few years.

The words and music received their first television exposure in 1963, when they were composed for a commercial, which featured the actual sound of a Slinky® "walking down stairs" to the beat of the music. The lyrics have been changed many times during the life of "It's Slinky®," but the tune has always been the same and it has been used in countless movies and television programs. The lyrics, translated into French, Spanish, etc. and are used in various countries of the world.
One of the early commercials using Slinky® jingles was selected for use on a Johnny Carson Productions special on Great TV commercials, hosted by Ed McMahon in 1984. The jingle is one of the 50 featured on a compact disc entitled "Tee Vee Tunes: The Commercials" and produced by TVT Records of New York.
While Slinky® is still springing along after 50 years, the Slinky® jingle continues to provide the sound behind the ever-changing video of Slinky® commercials.
"It's Slinky®" has most certainly established itself as one of the all-time TV jingle classics.
